June 2008 - Tableview Ventures into Ambient Media

Since April 2008, some football fans were treated to a new ambience in selected mamak restaurants where the outlets were “dressed up” to a happening event.

Tableview, at its helm with tabletop advertising has been unceasingly looking for new opportunities to venture into executing some new ideas to add flavour to its much known TableTalk in the mamak restaurants.

The Barclays Premier League and Euro 2008 gave just the right opportunity to allow some creative ideas to be showcased.

Maxis, which has the official sponsorship rights to the Barclay’s Premier League (BPL) decided to roll out its “On The Ball” campaign towards the end season of the 2008 BPL when most popular hangout places with giant screens would be packed with cheering footballs fans for the few final matches.

Giant banners replicating a giant scarf were hung at a few distinctive areas in Asia Café, Subang Jaya and NZ Curry House, Wangsa Maju. Football fans were also excited to see their favourite football players’ names on the backrest of the chairs which were “dressed up” to look like the back of a football jersey.

Identifying mamak restaurants as the perfect venue to reach out to footie fans, Coca-Cola Malaysia quickly booked some outlets to execute their Euro 2008 campaign in June. Those cheering on their teams while watching the football match would not miss Coke’s branding wrapped around the TV frames. Some outlets with bigger seating areas had a mobile scoreboard for the football match tallies. It was a good reference for score tallies for the past matches.

With the successful campaigns, Tableview made its debut with ambient media into mamaks restaurants and is constantly exploring other possible avenues for brand exposure according to the need of the project.

Tableview sells great ideas and not just table spaces. For further information, please call Tableview at 03-7491 8166.
