Tableview
loyalty card to reward patrons
TABLEVIEW
(M) Sdn Bhd, which markets restaurant tabletops
as an advertising medium, has launched a loyalty
card that rewards customers with free meals at their
favourite mamak restaurants.

The
company said in a statement that with the
support of the Indian Muslim Restaurant Association
(Presma) it launched the first Jom Ke Mamak
loyalty card at the end of last month.
Initially it will be available only at 30
Klang Valley outlets, but eventually it will
be distributed to most, if not all, members
registered under Presma.
A customer needs to spend RM10 at the food
outlet to obtain a Jom Ke Mamak loyalty card
with a stamp. Upon accumulating 10 stamps,
the customer is entitled to redeem a free
meal worth RM5 at the outlet.

Tableview has exclusive rights to sell ads on
table tops in 2,000 food outlets in the peninsula. |
Tableview
said that the loyalty card was designed to allow
advertisements to be featured.
“The ads will definitely give advertisers additional
mileage to reinforce brand absorption. The ad space
could be used either for brand-building or promotional
purposes, offering discounts or free gifts,”
it said.
A Ford Ranger ad appears in the first batch of loyalty
cards.
“The loyalty card gives more fun and excitement
to the fast-growing mamak scene in Malaysia since
each advertiser can customise its own reward programme
for consumers,” said Tableview chief executive
officer Kelvin Hong
Ford Malaysia Sdn Bhd brand manager Richard Ho was
quoted as saying: “An unconventional medium such
as this allows us to talk to a selected market.
Consumers will probably carry the loyalty card in
their pockets or wallets all the time and hence
constantly be reminded of our products. Word of
mouth is very powerful and I am sure advertisers
would benefit greatly from this loyalty card.”
Tableview launched its TableTalk table-top advertising
medium in April and its clients have included National
Panasonic, Intel and 20th Century Fox.
